Ziegler Caterpillar is hiring an Inside Parts Sales Person to serve our customers and support our Carroll, IA location rollout. Training will begin at our Fort Dodge, IA branch with transition to Carroll as it opens.

The role focuses on customer service, parts determination, order processing, and cross-department collaboration to ensure parts availability and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree preferred.
• 2+ years in diesel engine, construction or agriculture equipment, or automotive parts or service.
• Up to 4 years of experience preferred.
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Outlook.
• Basic telephone experience and basic customer service skills.
• Personal characteristics: Customer Focus, Teamwork, Learning Orientation, Efficiency, Sociability.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service face-to-face or over the telephone to customers.
• Helps customers determine correct parts needed, verify availability, and make recommendations.
• Determines the correct parts and their availability, and completes parts orders.
• Determines the supplying facility and mode of transportation for parts shipment.
• Enters proper shipping information into the parts ordering system to process the order and generate an invoice.
• Processes backorders, returns, and exchanges.
• Assists their team with group and team sales, providing a link and collaboration between different departments during the sales process.
• Communicates with customers for sales, follow-ups, and addressing potential issues.
• Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors.
• Prepares quotes for service work, as well as engines, machines, and parts.
• Assists customers with basic issues or concerns by taking action, providing alternatives, or escalating the issue to the more experienced team member.
• Makes workplace safe and productive, adhering to environmental standards.

Ziegler Cat has an opening for a full-time Inside Parts Sales Person to serve our customers. We are looking for a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational, customer service, and communication skills to help support our growth. This role will support the launch of our new Carroll, IA location. Initial training will be conducted at our Fort Dodge, IA branch, with the position transitioning to our Carroll, IA facility when it opens.

Pay Range

$20.96 to $25.12

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:
