Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN is seeking an experienced Inside Manual Machinist for Nuclear Services in Chesapeake, VA. Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm, with overtime to support a 24/7/365 operation.

Starting pay is $30 per hour, with increases based on relevant experience. You will manufacture and repair components from drawings, operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, and overhead cranes, perform inspections, and complete paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills and grinders.
• Ability to work within close tolerances of 0.0005–0.001 inches and meet timeframes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and repair components according to drawings and instructions.
• Operate machine shop equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging.
• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.

• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders.
• Ability to work within close tolerances of 0.0005–0.001 inches and meet allotted timeframes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely operate equipment, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and stand, stoop, or kneel for extended periods.
• Availability for overtime as needed, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays, to support a 24/7/365 service operation.
