General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Inside Machinist to setup and machine components on a range of equipment, including lathes, mills, boring machines and wire EDM. The role requires precise measurement, ability to follow blueprints, and capacity to work with minimal supervision across all shifts.

• Setup and machining of components on manual and CNC lathes, mills, horizontal boring machines, multi-axis machining centers, wire EDM.
• Precise measurement of part dimensions.
• Completion of both hardcopy and electronic documentation.
• Work with little to no supervisory experience.
• Be able to work and train on all shifts.

Qualifications

Required

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience


• 5+ years of experience with CNC Machining, set-up, Programming, or Operating Machines


• Must be able to work all shifts


• Must know how to read blueprints

Preferred

• Technical School education

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical detail drawings, including GD&T, G&M codes and weld joint symboling


• Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools


• Computer literacy
