Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat, Groton site, seeks an Inside Machinist - Skilled to join a team building high‑precision submarine components. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines, verify tolerances with precision metrology, and document work electronically.

Training on all shifts is available for qualified candidates. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to blueprints and GD&T, and a commitment to quality in a fast‑paced shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience.
• 5+ years of experience with CNC Machining, set-up, Programming, or Operating Machines.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Must know how to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and machine components on manual and CNC lathes, mills, horizontal boring machines, multi-axis machining centers, wire EDM, etc.
• Precisely measure part dimensions.
• Complete both hardcopy and electronic documentation.
• Work with little to no supervisory experience.
