Job details:

  1. General knowledge about ships and machinery.
  2. Ability to align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  3. Ability to read micrometers with low tolerance.
  4. Ability to operate inside shop equipment in compliance with standards/values.
  5. Ability to prepare written mechanical evaluations.
  6. Ability to read and work from blueprints.
  7. Ability to pass a drug test.
  8. Have basic hand tools.

Must Have To Apply:

  • Same as above (repetition can be consolidated).

Preferred: Three years of machining experience.

Required Screenings: Drug Testing/Screening.

Job Description: The Inside Machinist is responsible for the assembly, installation, modification, and repair of various ship machinery and systems. Set up, service, repair, align, and test machines that operate on a mechanical and electro-mechanical basis. Skilled with precision, utilizing tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to repair machine parts to manufacturer specifications. Evaluate procedures and recommend changes to improve setup and production efficiency.
