As an Inside Machinist, you will:
- Operate in 3 sections: Machining, Valves and Pumps
- Operate milling machines, lathes, drill presses, grinders, flange facers, and overhead cranes
- Manufacture parts and maintain/repair machinery
- Repair ship components using more blueprints, sketches and sample parts
- Produce machine work at an efficient rate with minimal or no defects that are out of tolerance
- Perform valve assembly, disassembly, inspection and repair
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot and repair pumps
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
Required Education, Experience, & Skills- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form
- Able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals
- Read, understand, and interpret advanced blueprints to preform task required
- Level 1 Qualified Certification Test
- Know how to measure using a scale and tape measure
- Able to wear appropriate protective gear
- Able to physically perform essential job duties with or without accommodations
- Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills- Minimum education: High school diploma/GED
- Minimum relevant experience: 1 to 2 yrs.
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form
- Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals
- Must know how to measure using a scale and tape measure
- Must be able to use specified tools required tools as determined by the shop management
- Maintain job site cleanliness
- Able to work at heights (if applicable to trade)
- Be able to work off scaffolding (if applicable to trade)
- Able to work with hands
- Ability to walk, stand, long periods at a time
- Able to wear the required PPE
- Basic material identification skill
- Strong Knowledge of understanding blueprints reading (Excludes labor shop)
- Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution as required
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $59800 - $91645
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
