Job summary

UNC Health Youth Behavioral Health (YBH) in Butner, NC seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to join a 16-bed inpatient unit for adolescents aged 14-17. You will provide direct patient care, support therapeutic activities, and assist with admissions under RN supervision. Must hold CNA and have 1 year in behavioral health.

Orientation is required, with a night shift schedule and rotating weekends. The role is based at UNC Medical Center's YBH IP Unit D Dogwood, offering extensive benefits

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a behavioral health/neurosciences unit.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients under RN supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Conduct therapeutic group sessions as directed by the RN.
• Assist with admissions and orient new patients and families.
• Document patient information and report changes to the RN/physician.
