Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks an Inpatient Wound Care RN at St Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. This per diem role covers day shifts (8:00am–5:00pm) focusing on wound care, ostomy, and continence care during hospital stays and outpatient visits.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in good standing with BLS, has acute care experience, and aims for WOC/WCC certification within the first year. Perks include medical options, 401K, flexible scheduling, and more.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred
• Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience (1 Year)
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire
• Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments
• Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment
• Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, teach ostomy care and continence management
• Regularly track wound healing progress, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care, and provide emotional support to patients with chronic wounds or ostomies
• Implement infection control measures to prevent infection spread and educate staff on wound care protocols
