Job summary

Streamwoodhospital is seeking a part-time Inpatient Therapist to join our dedicated treatment team in Streamwood, Illinois. The role involves assisting clients to achieve optimal emotional health through therapeutic treatment and providing clinical social services, including individual and group therapy.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology, with at least two years of experience in a behavioral health care facility. The position offers a challenging work environment with competitive compensation and generous benefits.

PART TIME

The Program Therapist performs social service functions to include assisting clients in meeting their bio‑psycho‑social needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, and specialized clinical social services for consumers/families receiving care. The clinical social services provided includes crisis intervention, individual therapy, short and/or long‑term family therapy, group therapy, treatment planning and discharge planning. The Program Therapist serves as an integral member of the treatment team and is also responsible for case management of consumers internal/ external support systems.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology is REQUIRED. A minimum of two (2) years experience in a behavioral health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention and treatment skills is preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills, with majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: LPC or LSW REQUIRED. LCPC or LCSW preferred. Primary Source Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.

SKILLS: Trained in psychotherapy techniques providing therapy, training in evidenced based models including CBT, DBT, etc. preferred. Time management and experience completing therapeutic documentation.
