Job summary

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking dedicated Therapists (LMSW/LCSW/LPC/LPC-A/LPC-S) to provide therapeutic services to patients in a 122-bed facility in Southwest Houston. The role focuses on interviewing patients, assessing needs, and delivering counseling to individuals, families, and groups.

Applicants must hold Texas licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-A, or LPC-S) and have clinical skills in crisis intervention and treatment planning.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment skills.
• Licensure in Texas as LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-A, or LPC-S; CPR and Handle With Care certifications (may be obtained during orientation).

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and developing the psychological history.
• Assessing the therapeutic needs of the patient and family.
• Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups.
• Developing appropriate treatment objectives.
• Preparing monthly treatment summaries.
• Act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility.
• Serve as patient advocate with the treatment team.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and the patient’s family.
