Job summary

Rainier Springs in Washington state seeks an Inpatient Therapist to deliver individual and group psychotherapy, participate in treatment planning, and involve families in care. This full-time role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nursing, and care teams to support patient safety and recovery.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in social work or counseling and are credentialed for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder. CPR and CPI training within 30 days are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling is required.
• Dual credentialing in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder is preferred.
• Experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients on psychological, emotional, or substance abuse issues.
• Participate actively in the treatment planning process.
• Provide family session counseling to involve relatives and support groups.
• Communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, UR and nursing staff.

How you'll contribute

• Conducts individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
• Displays active involvement in treatment planning process
• Provides family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
• Actively communicates with clients, families, and outside referral sources
• Demonstrates proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment
• Works well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members
• Demonstrates active communication with team members
• Effectively communicates to UR on treatment and LOS issues
• Completes appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner
• Demonstrates appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
• Acts as a member of team with crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety
• Completes accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills
• Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for

• Master's degree in social work or counseling

• Dually Credentialed Therapist in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder

• Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.

• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.

Wage scale: $33.22 - $44.85 per hour
