Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee and review the integrity of ambulatory surgery coding and charging programs
  • Advise on internal and external coding reviews, audits, and new coding regulations
  • Assist in writing policies and procedures related to coding and billing
  • Collaborate closely with coding leadership and other technical advisors to ensure accurate coding
  • Participate in coding education and workflow training for outpatient coding
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; completion of a Coding Certificate program or Health Information Technology Program
  • 3+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in clinical coding within a healthcare setting
  • In-depth knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • AS/BS in Health Information Technology/Administration or related healthcare administration program
  • Familiarity with coding guidelines and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH Act
  • Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes related to clinical coding
