Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Technician to support the sterile compounding team at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. This full-time role prefers candidates with sterile compounding background and requires Nebraska-licensed pharmacy technician credentials.

The position involves sterile preparation per USP standards, medication management within the department, and teamwork to meet compounding needs during first shift hours.

Qualifications

• Perform sterile compounding according to policy and regulations including USP 797 and USP 800.
• Maintain competency in use of all equipment and programs related to performing sterile compounding.
• Participate in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including medication and supply ordering, receiving, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment, hardware, and software issues relating to compounding.
• Participate in completing and documenting all cleaning and monitoring activities identified for areas related to sterile compounding.
• Practice critical and focused thinking and perform calculations as needed to validate activities.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team to triage and respond to all compounding needs in a timely manner, following supervisor shift pharmacists' oversight.
• Maintain ongoing didactic and practical training as related to sterile compounding.
