Job summary

University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a compassionate Clinical Nurse II for the Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Unit. You will provide independent patient care and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery and independence.

The role requires Maryland RN licensure, an associate degree (BSN preferred), CPR certification, and at least one year of nursing experience. Sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• MD RN licensure or eligibility via MD Compact
• Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred
• One year nursing experience
• Current CPR certification
• Up-to-date status on mandatory training and classes
• Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years
• Member of a professional organization
• Recent applicable clinical experience in a comparable setting

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, evidence-based nursing care to spinal cord injury patients.
• Coordinate patient care across the interdisciplinary team.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to maximize outcomes and independence.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff and team.
• Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain accountability for patient and family outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers and other professionals.
