Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse I to assume responsibility for delivering nursing care using the nursing process in an inpatient setting. The role requires meeting state licensure, BLS, and ongoing professional development through the CAPE program.

You will work with an interprofessional team to provide high-quality patient care. The CAPE ladder supports growth from Level 1 through Level 6, with required competencies and certification opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in the state or a multi-state license via eNLC.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• BSN preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Modifies patient care plans based on data collection and individual needs.
• Uses Evidence-Based Practice to provide patient care.
• Delegates according to scope of practice.
• Verifies the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patient, and family.
• Provides education based on learning needs and involvement of family.
• Promotes effective communication among interprofessional team members.
