Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients requiring speech-language-swallowing therapy in Morgantown, WV. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration, comprehensive evaluations, and development of treatment plans within the Rehabilitation Services department.

The position requires state licensure, ASHA CCC within 48 months of hire, and BLS certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Current licensure or temporary licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state where services are provided.
• ASHA CCC in Speech-Language Pathology or must be obtained within 48 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation with an interdisciplinary team approach.
• Evaluates speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-linguistic needs and develops treatment programs.
• Documents treatments as per department policies and EMR requirements.
• Participates in Performance Improvement programs to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
• Supervises graduate assistants/interns as assigned and provides feedback and evaluation of student performance.
