Job summary

BayCare Health System's Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the inpatient rehab team in a post-acute setting. Assist in delivering high-quality physical therapy services to patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury at Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center.

Responsibilities include implementing PT plans, supervising exercises with PT oversight, documenting progress, and educating patients and caregivers to support recovery.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy (PTA) required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• PTA license or eligibility to licensure within 6 months.
• Preferred 1 year experience as a PTA.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist to improve patients’ mobility, strength, and functional independence.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and use of assistive devices under PT supervision.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document treatments and patient responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and techniques to support continued recovery.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other rehab professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
