Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a physical therapist assistant program approved by the SC State Board.
• Licensed physical therapist assistant in the State of South Carolina.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of a physical therapist to administer direct PT patient care per treatment plan.
• Assists in providing age-appropriate care for child through geriatric patients.
• Administers PT treatments to relieve pain and restore function using exercise, manual therapy and modalities.
• Monitors progress with tests and measurements and documents patient data.
• Instructs patients and families in home exercise programs and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Represents department in meetings and provides in-services to hospital staff.

Education

Graduate of PTA program approved by the State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (SC)
