Qualifications

• Associate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• 2 years of inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Proficient in documentation and medical record keeping.
• Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine.
• Current certification to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification via AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and treatment: assist in evaluating patients’ functional abilities and implement plans to improve self-care, ADLs, and independence.
• Patient education on adaptive equipment, home modifications, and management strategies.
• Documentation of patient progress, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, OTs, physicians, nurses and the rehab team.
• Engage in continuing education to stay updated on rehab practices and maintain safe patient care.
