Psychiatric Medical Care, LLC. is seeking an Inpatient Recreational Therapist for dayshift with weekends included. The role focuses on care, community engagement, and CMS-compliant activity planning to benefit patients in inpatient settings.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation and CTRS certification, with CPR and Handle with Care training provided. Experience in patient activities in health care is preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation is required.
• CTRS Certification is required.
• One-year experience in a patient activities program in a health care setting is preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills are preferred.
• Current CPR is provided.
• Handle with Care Training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Care: Organize patient activities to reinforce cognitive stimulation and promote socialization; train staff to carry out activities when the therapist is not present; fill in for program staff as needed.
• Community: Plan community education events, decorate themes, and organize special events; promote a culture of kindness and accountability on units.
• Compliance: Create weekly schedules meeting CMS guidelines and provide therapeutic activities for various group sizes; ensure patient and staff safety.
