Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. The Recreation Therapist plans and implements activity services for the assigned program as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

This full-time position includes evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation Therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline, or a Master’s degree in Art Therapy, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate responsibility for observation and application of sound judgement in patients' physical and mental condition needs.
• Ensure timely documentation of interventions and ensure interventions are based on the patient's plan of care.
• Effectively plan and implement activity therapy for assigned patient caseload within the facility.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in related therapy fields
