Job summary

Plum Creek Recovery Ranch in Lockhart, Texas, is seeking a compassionate nursing assistant to support patients in an inpatient recovery program. You will perform Q30s and 1:1 observations, assist the RN/LVN, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, strict confidentiality under HIPAA, and exceptional customer service as you engage patients, document observations, and participate in shift reports while supporting unit operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• CPR and CPI certification required.
• Prior experience in mental health/inpatient setting preferred.
• Must maintain HIPAA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Q30s and 1:1 observations according to hospital standards with no gaps in observations.
• Participate in treatment engagement by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths and adjusting the treatment plan.
• Co-facilitate didactic, educational, and community groups within the treatment program.
• Communicate information about patients' behavior to treatment team.
• Orient new patients to the program and milieu.
• Carry out general nursing assistance as assigned and supervised by nurse in charge.
