Job summary

University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville is seeking a fulltime, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to join our expanding inpatient psychiatry team. This faculty role provides direct psychiatric care to patients admitted to UF Health’s inpatient units, including evaluations, management of complex cases, and coordination of multidisciplinary treatment plans.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency.
• Board eligibility or board certification in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Florida.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatry or consultation-liaison psychiatry.
• Excellence in teaching and clinical supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Manage complex psychiatric and behavioral health cases, including crisis stabilization.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment planning and daily rounds.
• Supervise and teach psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees.
• Ensure timely access to evidence-based care and support compliance with all regulatory, documentation, and quality benchmarks.
• Engage in quality improvement activities and support departmental initiatives.
