Job summary

The University of New Mexico Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences seeks an academic faculty psychiatrist to join the Adult Psychiatry Division as an inpatient attending at UNM Psychiatric Center, with appointments at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Clinical duties at the 32-bed unit include leadership in unit direction, teaching and supervision of residents and medical students, and opportunities for multicultural research across the Health Sciences campus.

Qualifications

• MD or Doctorate (MD or equivalent) required.
• Board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry.
• Clinical experience - minimum 1 year.
• Licensable in New Mexico.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Preferred: teaching and supervision of residents, fellows and medical students.
• Preferred: clinical leadership experience in an academic setting.
• Commitment to cultivate understanding of New Mexico cultures and UNM mission.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient attending psychiatrist on the Adult Psychiatry Division's service.
• Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to teaching, administration, and research activities.
• Collaborate across Health Sciences campus on multicultural care.
