Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Mental Health Engagement, Navigation, and Delivery (MEND) service in the acute inpatient unit. The APP will support patients with chronic psychiatric conditions by implementing behavior plans, providing supportive therapy, and performing follow-up during hospitalization.

Qualifications

• Masters degree required in psychiatric mental health nursing or physician assistant.
• Pennsylvania licensure as CRNP or PA-C preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health or acute care setting preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Psychiatric evaluation with psychopharmacology and behavioral interventions.
• Collaborate with medicine teams and interprofessional providers.
• Educate on agitation management and de-escalation in acute care.
• Manage patients with substance use disorders and suicide precautions.
• Maintain high level of independence and willingness to learn new skills.
