Job summary

The Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is hiring Registered Nurses to join our inpatient and outpatient teams. Shifts include Days and Nights, with a Full Time schedule. Pay ranges from $36 to $40 per hour, depending on experience, plus sign-on bonuses for specific shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current RN license in Ohio or be eligible to practice.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/mental/behavioral or substance abuse experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care within state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.
• Transcribe physicians’ orders accurately.
• Assess patient status continuously and document findings.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status or emergencies.
• Complete admission nursing treatment plans on admission.
• Apply universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Administer medications as ordered.
• Count controlled substances accurately on documents.
• Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients while upholding boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
