Job summary

South Shore Health System is seeking a part-time Inpatient Phlebotomist for the Weymouth, MA location. This role performs phlebotomy including venipuncture, fingerstick, and heelstick, with strict labeling and specimen handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum education equivalency of four years of high school preferred.
• One year of full-time phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Certified or certified-eligible with National Phlebotomy Association preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick) per SSH procedures.
• Identify patients and correctly label specimen tubes with patient information.
• Ensure STAT draws are prioritized and transported promptly to the lab.
• Enter orders accurately and print NCC lists; manage test selections on handheld system.
• Assist with training new employees and student interns as required.
• Maintain department cleanliness and stock, and support co-workers as needed.
