Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY seeks a Phlebotomist to join our Edgewood Laboratory Phlebotomy team on 2nd shift.

You will perform venipuncture, arterial and capillary collections, and ensure accurate processing in our information systems, following ICARE principles. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying orders, collecting specimens across adults to infants, and maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Experience includes customer service.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients using the AIDET (PHLEBOT) model and provides instructions for quality patient experiences.
• Evaluates physician orders for specimen type, time of draw and any special handling requirements.
• Uses hospital/lab computer systems to obtain information and coordinate with staff.
• Collects specimens safely according to policies and procedures.
• Cleans, organizes, stocks phlebotomy areas and drives courier vehicle as needed.
• Performs duties across multiple lab sites and attends education seminars.
• Implements ICARE principles to promote quality patient care and a productive work environment.
