Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists across all pharmacy activities, including maintaining automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and stocking narcotics for in-patients. You will also assist with nursing questions and ADM drawer maintenance.

Responsibilities include dispensing controlled drugs under supervision, preparing IV admixtures and sterile products, and inspecting units for proper storage and expiry dates. Per diem shifts and weekend differentials apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a hospital-based, community college or military technician training program preferable.
• PTCB certification within 12 months of Date of Hire is required.
• CT Pharmacy Technician state registration must be current; or registration as a Pharmacy Intern and active enrollment in a school of pharmacy.
• Hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automated dispensing machines (ADMs) stock levels by loading and refilling medications including narcotics for all in-patients.
• Answer telephones, assist nurses troubleshooting ADM questions and drawer maintenance.
• Dispense controlled drugs with supervision of a pharmacist to anesthetists, and for delivery to ADM machines.
• Prepare IV admixtures, solutions, and other sterile products and chemotherapy as needed.
• Inspect nursing units for proper drug storage, expiry dates and reliability of the pharmacy.
