Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations. You will fill routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged drugs, and assist with computerized charges for patient billing with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include medication stocking, IV rounds, narcotics handling, and floor visits. A license and certification are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Georgia State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration is required.
• Current certification from National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association preferred.
• Hospital or retail Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pulling medication from stock and ensuring drug and amount match patient labels.
• Making rounds, delivering medications, restocking automated dispensing cabinets, and reconciling discrepancies of cabinet charges.
• Performing cart fill and stocking patients’ matrix drawers.
• Performing IV rounds and crediting patient accounts appropriately.
• Answering the telephone, receiving and relaying messages, ensuring legend drugs are checked by a licensed Pharmacist.
• Performing floor visits, updating medication in cabinets and monitoring inventory for outdates.
• Conducting narcotic rounds including inventory and delivery to cabinets and returns to pharmacy.
• In Emergency Care Center, pulling medication history and compiling current patient medication lists.
