Under supervision of a pharmacist, you will prepare medications, enter orders, label, deliver to patient care areas, and maintain inventory. The ideal candidate holds a Michigan Pharmacy Technician License, a high school diploma or GED, and 6 months pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Requires a Pharmacy Technician License from the State of Michigan.
• 6 months pharmacy experience preferred.
• Must have the ability to use a computer keyboard and type approximately 25 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Picks up medication orders and delivers medications to patient care areas on a routine and emergency basis.
• Accurately interprets and enters medication orders into the pharmacy computer system.
• Determines quantities needed to fill prescriptions and prepares prescription medications for dispensing following established policy and procedure.
• Aseptically compounds and labels intravenous solutions according to prescription formula or instructions.
• Participates in the teaching and supervision of new pharmacy technicians and pharmacy technician students.
