Job summary

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Inpatient Pharmacy. The role involves processing medication orders, IV admixtures, packaging, and ensuring timely delivery of meds in a fast-paced environment at the Harvey campus.

Responsibilities include compounding, inventory, and compliance with USP 797/800 standards while supporting pharmacists and nursing staff to provide optimal patient care. Night shift; full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active license as a pharmacy technician in Illinois.
• Current valid pharmacy technician certification (unless grandfathered).
• General hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders accurately via automated carousel-storage system.
• Process parenteral orders and prepare IV admixtures using DoseEdge.
• Process stock replacement requests for nursing/ancillary units.
• Prepackage tablets, capsules, liquids and other medications.
• IV admixture preparation and compounding, including chemotherapy.
• Order, receive and stock medications and supplies.
