Job summary

This role includes assisting with advanced assignments, working with the EHR, and ensuring safety and compliance under Joint Commission standards, with opportunities to precept new staff and help ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Six (6) months of sterile compounding or inpatient experience.
• License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician by California Board of Pharmacy or Intern Pharmacist by California Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding of non-hazardous drugs.
• Searches for medication orders in the EHR and processes returned/discontinued products.
• Distributes medications and trains new staff by auditing and/or providing just in time feedback for accuracy.
• Triages inventory related issues and removes outdated supplies.
• Delivers medications to the MRI area utilizing MRI safety protocols.
• Performs at least one advanced assignment (e.g., TPN compounding, hazardous sterile compounding).
