Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy department under pharmacist supervision. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, Indiana Pharmacy Technician License or intern/extern license, and Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant experience preferred.
• No criminal history related to drugs.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy technician duties and ability to follow procedures under supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Proficient typing and Microsoft Office usage; High School Diploma or GED required.
• Indiana Pharmacy Technician License or intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory management, preparation, distribution, compounding, processing of medications and supplies, and medication histories.
• Answer phones, take refill orders, enter orders, and prepare medications for pharmacist check.
• Prepare medications for disbursement/shipment/delivery and maintain records.
• Assist in bulk compounding and IV solution preparation where applicable.
• Work with pharmacy staff to minimize medication errors and adhere to policies and procedures.
