Organization: CPMC-California Pacific Med Center Van Ness
Position Overview: Performs pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. Responsibilities include preparing, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medication, nutritional products, and IV admixtures. Maintains adherence to standards, procedures, cleaning protocols, and infection control policies to ensure a safe, sterile environment. Assists with inventory management, maintains stock levels, checks pricing accuracy, and completes regulatory documentation. Exercises sound judgment and clinical skills to support the patient's care plan based on diagnosis in a timely manner. Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and may train or orient staff, including serving as a primary trainer for inpatient pharmacy technician tasks, including complex and chemotherapy compounding. Capable of performing advanced functions such as patient medication history interviews and EMR documentation independently. Resolves ADS Pyxis controlled substance discrepancies and collaborates with clinical staff. Adheres to privacy and safety standards.

Minimum Requirements:
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, laws, and regulations; understanding of pharmacy practice settings; ability to identify and use pharmaceutical abbreviations; familiarity with legal and accreditation standards; basic pharmacy duties; strong communication skills; time management; computer literacy; math skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; maintain patient confidentiality; build collaborative relationships.

Work Schedule: Day/Evening, Full Time, 8-hour shifts, variable days, rotating weekends. Benefits provided. No union. Non-exempt status. 32 hours/week. Regular employee status.
Employees may handle hazardous drugs according to NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines.

Pay Range: $38.97 to $48.70/hour
The salary may vary based on location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. Compensation includes base pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
