Job summary

Humboldt Park Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Chicago. The role supports medication preparation, labeling, and delivery within a patient‑centered hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds a CPhT certification (or is eligible), has a high school diploma, and can communicate in Spanish and English. You will assist with chemotherapy preparation, inventory control, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required or exempt from certification if enrolled in accredited school.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fills and labels medication orders.
  • Prepares parenteral medications, including chemotherapy.
  • Prepackages tablets, capsules, liquids and other medications needed for unit dose administration.
  • Maintains pharmacy records with proper documentation.
  • Delivers medications from the pharmacy to nursing stations and/or appropriate hospital departments.
  • Participates in inventory control by assisting with ordering and receiving pharmaceuticals.
  • Inspects designated nursing and pharmacy areas for expired drugs.
  • Restocks and maintains immediate work area.

Schedule: This position follows a full-time schedule with hours mainly varying between mornings and evenings. Occasional weekends required. Some holidays required. Flexibility may be required based on patient and operational needs.
