Job summary

Akron Children's Pharmacy Technician position in Akron, OH, assists the pharmacist with medication preparation and distribution. The technician fills patient orders and ensures delivery to the correct nursing units in a busy inpatient setting.

The role requires Ohio Pharmacy Technician certification/registration, 0–2 years of experience (preferred), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain hospital insurance. Onsite work with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certification/registration as Ohio Pharmacy Technician required; 12 months to achieve national cert if trainee.
0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Valid State driver’s license and ability to be insured by hospital carrier.
Annual physical required.

Responsibilities

Fills medication orders by reviewing labels and preparing medications for pharmacist check.
Refills patient medication carts with a 24-hour supply.
Prepares oral syringes and IV medications, including chemotherapy.
Delivers medications to nursing units and stocks automated dispensing units.
Repackages bulk medications and removes outdated stock.
Handles medication supply issues and assists nurses.
