Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Pembroke Pines, Florida is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication distribution, prepare non-sterile compounds, assist with patient care and service needs, and participate in training new technicians and students.

The role includes maintaining automated dispensing cabinets, processing medication charges, stocking inventories, and data entry in the pharmacy system; evening shifts are required, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) license with Florida.
• Experience in inpatient settings preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians and students.
• Assist with customer service and patient needs, including answering telephones, managing work queues and completing medication histories.
• Maintains and supports medication distribution systems and distribution channels, including automated dispensing cabinets, code carts, trays and kits.
• Prepares non-sterile compounded medications, including hazardous medications and cross trains in more advance functions when deemed appropriate.
• Process medication charges/credits when applicable.
• Completes other responsibilities as assigned in support of pharmacy operations and within the pharmacy technician scope of practice.
• Prepares, fills, receives, delivers, stocks and restocks medication inventory and supplies for the pharmacy department and drug storage areas. Repackages bulk medications.
• Performs prescription data entry in pharmacy system when applicable.
