Job summary

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive pharmacy services under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This is a per diem/PRN position in the Pharmacy Inpatient department.

No experience is required upon hire; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. KY license is required, with CPhT certification due within 6 months and CPhT-Adv preferred, to support safe dispensing and inpatient operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; preferred.
KY Pharmacy Tech license required at hire; CPhT within 6 months.
CPhT-Adv certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Processes prescriptions and requests for refills from patients.
Orders and maintains inventory.
May communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients in person or via telephone as needed.
Inputs privileged health information into computer system.
May refill and maintain automated dispensing system.
May perform IV fluid activities and IV admixture functions including IV chemotherapy.
May perform service technician functions including operating rooms by distributing and maintaining room trays and anesthesia boxes.
May perform narcotic technician functions.
May perform medication reconciliation.
May perform meds-to-beds.
