Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital - Pharmacy in Illinois is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with dispensing and order entry. The role includes handling phone inquiries from nurses, physicians, and patients, and ensuring accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

Candidates should be high school graduates with math skills, strong communication, and basic computer skills. IL licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or PT Certification within two years is preferred; hospital

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Strong math and detail orientation.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills and ability to use pharmacy information systems.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

Assist in dispensing and delivery of medications to patients.
Enter medication orders in the computer system and process requests.
Handle phone calls from nurses, physicians, and patients and provide timely hand-off.
Follow USP, regulatory and department procedures and ensure compliance.
Support pharmacists and maintain documentation.
