Job summary

Samaritan Hospital is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for the Day Shift as a Full-Time role. You will support medication distribution, preparation, and inventory in the inpatient pharmacy, using robotic and automated systems.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, NY pharmacy tech registration preferred, and strong communication and arithmetic skills. Experience in hospital pharmacy and Lawson software is a plus; the role offers a stable day schedule within Samaritan Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• National certification by PTCB or NHA preferred.
• Valid New York State Pharmacy Technician Registration preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions, decimals, multiplication and division.
• Two years pharmacy and computer experience preferred, or relevant health care related experience.

Responsibilities

• Medication Distribution - Inpatient Pharmacy, including first doses and robot-based workflow.
• Fill carts and nursing unit drawers using robot systems and PARx.
• Deliver medications to nursing units via Pneumatic Tube system and Pyxis devices.
• Handle narcotics appropriately and manage C-II Safe procedures.
• Prepare and package IV/NP products following aseptic techniques.
• Maintain inventory, restock, and report shortages; use Lawson for requisitions.
• Process daily reports, recordkeeping, and controlled substance paperwork.
• Input charges into pharmacy computer and perform QA checks.
