Job summary

Akron Children's is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for its Inpatient Pharmacy in Akron, OH. This full-time role supports the pharmacist in medication retrieval, preparation, and distribution with a 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule and weekend/holiday rotations.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available and the position is onsite in Akron, OH. Required is a High School diploma, an Ohio Pharmacy Technician certification or Pharmacy Intern status, and a preference for at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or current Pharmacy Intern status preferred; must obtain national certification within 12 months if not already certified.
1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist in retrieval, processing, and distribution of medications for patient administration.
Accurately pull, label, package, and prepare medications for pharmacist verification.
Perform basic unit-dose packaging and batch filling.
Perform sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous compounding.
Prepare intravenous medications, including chemotherapy.
Operate and maintain regulatory compliance per USP standards and hospital policies.
