Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. in Mississippi seeks a Director of Pharmacy to lead and direct all pharmacy services.

You will ensure compliance with legal and accreditation standards and maintain a professional presence hospital-wide while aligning goals with Cardinal Health and client needs. You will oversee financial responsibility for the department, supervise staff, and develop policy and procedures to meet regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Mississippi or able to obtain licensure.
• Inpatient/hospital experience required.
• Management experience required.
• Sterile compounding experience preferred.
• 340B program experience preferred.
• Excellent communication with healthcare professionals.
• Strong planning, organizing and leadership skills.
• Vendor credentialing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manages the pharmacy budget and all aspects related to the financial program including profit and loss responsibility.
• Participates in hospital committee meetings necessary to enhance practice and patient care.
• Conducts one on one and team meetings with pharmacy staff to review performance and provide coaching as necessary.
• Purchases drugs and supplies in accordance with GPO bids and Cardinal Health best demonstrated practices.
• Maintains the pharmacy scheduling in addition to hiring, firing and performance management of pharmacy staff members.
• Develops, maintains, and updates a pharmacy Policy and Procedure manual for the department to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Performs pharmacy related tasks including filling and taking orders in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
