Job summary

Vibra Travels is seeking a Pharmacist to fill and dispense medication orders across partner facilities nationwide. The role requires active pharmacy licensure in the employment state and inpatient hospital experience.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe medication therapies and participate in antibiotic stewardship to support patient safety. Travel-friendly position with license reimbursement and a referral bonus program.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and active Pharmacist license in the state of employment.
• Minimum two (2) years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Experience verifying medication orders and dispensing medications in inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Fill and dispense medication orders and ensure proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs.
• Provide drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with medical staff and nursing to deliver safe, cost-effective therapies.
• Participate in Antibiotic Stewardship Program focusing on patient safety and public health.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders, including the proper handling, usage and storage of drugs in the Pharmacy. Maintain standards set forth by the department and translate policies and procedures into daily operations. Responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information and literature. Provides a coordination effort, in conjunction with the medical staff and nursing, in the delivery of quality and cost-effective drug therapies to patients. Participates in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health. Demonstrates a competency to provide pharmaceutical care to patients of all relevant age groups. Provides leadership in the absence of the Director as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacist in the state of employment required
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program required
• Experience verifying medication orders and preparing and dispensing medications in an inpatient setting required
• Current, valid, and active driver's license required
• Ability to travel using publicly available air and ground transportation

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations:

• Current, valid, and active state license to practice as a Pharmacist required
• Current BLS certification from a Vibra Travels-approved vendor required, AHA preferred and required by some clients
• Additional certifications may be required by Vibra Travels and/or client

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

• Experience collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Strong knowledge of inpatient medication safety, dosing, and clinical protocols
• Familiarity with computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems and pharmacy information systems
• Ability to perform medication reconciliation and participate in clinical consults as required
• Strong attention to accuracy and detail
• Free from illegal drug use and effects of alcohol in the workplace
