Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to oversee the medication distribution system in their assigned area.

The role involves ensuring medications are indicated, effective, safe, and convenient for patients, and identifying and resolving drug therapy problems. You will interact with staff, assure appropriateness of therapy, and support quality processes across pharmacy services.

Qualifications

• Doctorate Doctor of Pharmacy or RPH (see below under experience).
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles required for medication dosing.
• Monitor patients for response to medications.
• Identify and document sentinel/serious events, near misses, medicationerrors and adverse drug reactions in the electronic reporting system.
• Promote and assure compliance with the hospital formulary and policies and procedures defined by the P & T Committee.
• Provide care that is appropriate to the chronological age, developmental age, social maturity, and cultural background of the patient.
• RP - Registered Pharmacist - State of Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Assures the appropriateness of drug therapy and compliance with hospital policies.
• Oversees the distribution of medications throughout TJUH.
• Supports implementation of processes to assure the quality of Pharmacy services.
• Trains staff as assigned (e.g., residents, interns, technicians, new pharmacists).
• Precepts student pharmacists as assigned.
