Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist at New River Valley Inpatient in Radford, VA.

You will use your lived experience to support clients in a professional treatment setting, while maintaining confidentiality and boundaries. Responsibilities include providing peer support, collaborating with counselors and staff, documenting interactions, and connecting clients with resources to sustain recovery after treatment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Virginia Board of Counseling Peer Recovery Specialist certification — REQUIRED.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support using lived experience to encourage recovery and treatment engagement.
• Build professional relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Help clients connect with community resources and ongoing recovery support.
• Collaborate with counselors, nurses, and other members of the treatment team.
• Communicate client progress, concerns, and service needs to your supervisor.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of client and collateral contacts.
• Participate in peer record reviews and quality assurance activities.
