Job summary

Spaulding Rehabilitation Cape Cod, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support both inpatient and outpatient services on Cape Cod. You will assist with daily living activities, document patient information, and help with vital signs under licensed personnel.

The position is onsite, part-time (32 hours), offering a $750 sign-on bonus and a competitive hourly wage. High school diploma required; BLS and CNA/Nurse Assistant certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Licenses/credentials: BLS preferred; CMA/ Nursing Assistant certs preferred.
• Experience: 0–1 year in patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living ( bathing, dressing, eating ).
• Take and record vitals including temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Support with exams, phlebotomy and documentation in the EHR.
• Assist with admitting/discharging patients and transport as needed.
• Maintain clean, stocked patient rooms and coordinate with care team.

Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Does this position require Patient Care? Yes-Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, performing and documenting point of care, vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs of patients, transferring and assisting with ambulation of patients, 1:1 patient observation for safety purposes, and phlebotomy. Assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments as required.-Completes all documentation such as height, weight, intake of fluids and food, output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage, and blood glucose results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).-Assists patients with food tray setup, eating, and feeding, as needed.-Ensures that patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately, as needs indicate and as patient volumes change.-Retrieves equipment from other areas, sets up equipment, cleans equipment between patient use, and reports malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy.-Assists with admitting and discharging patients.-Facilitates orientation of new PCA team members as directed.-Interacts with patients, visitors, and other care team members effectively-Communicates with nursing staff effectively and in a timely manner regarding issues related to patient care and condition.-Fosters a positive, collaborative team environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
