Job summary

Compass Palliative Care in California seeks outstanding Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants with experience or interest in palliative care. Our practice provides palliative services in the hospital setting in the Gardena and Huntington Park areas.

This is a Monday through Friday, part-time position with flexible hours. The practitioner will manage a specific patient load under board-certified physicians, with training and in-service education to support staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with palliative care experience preferred.
• Hospital-based palliative care experience is a plus.
• Excellent patient and family communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients.
• Provide palliative care to best treat the patient.
• Define and document patient diagnoses.
• Assure all patients are completely satisfied.
• Patient and family education and management.
• Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart, including follow-up notes.
• Actively participates in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals.
