Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate Medical Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW) to support patients across acute, outpatient, and long-term care settings. This role involves delivering psychosocial care, crisis intervention, care transition assistance, and patient advocacy.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess and address psychosocial needs of patients and families.
  2. Coordinate discharge planning, referrals, and protective services.
  3. Provide crisis intervention, pre-admission screening, and long-term care support.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care.
  5. Participate in program development, professional training, and supervision as needed.
Qualifications
For LCSW Candidates:
  • Master's in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Active LCSW license in Missouri.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Strong understanding of clinical theory and social work practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Experience in healthcare or mental health settings preferred.
For LMSW Candidates:
  • Master's in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Licensed or eligible to obtain LMSW license in Missouri within 90 days.
  • Knowledge of social work practice and theory at MSW level.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Healthcare or mental health experience is a plus.
Additional Details
  • Full-time position, 40 hours/week, 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
  • Location: UH Lakewood Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.
