Job summary

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a part-time or per diem role in its inpatient department. The position offers a wage of $31.01–$44.79 per hour for part-time hours and $40.00 per hour for per diem shifts, with care focusing on medically complex patients over a 2–3 week stay.

The team emphasizes continuity of care, collaboration with rehabilitation colleagues, and ongoing education for staff and families within an in-person work

Qualifications

• Assess and implement treatment plans per patient diagnosis and ethics.
• Complete timely documentation (flow sheets, progress notes, discharge summaries).
• Delegate duties to therapy aides and support staff.
• Coordinate full treatment caseload.
• Attend rehabilitation team and family conferences.
• Promote staff and patient education through continuing education and literature review.

Responsibilities

• Assess and implement appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis and status and in accordance of the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics.
• Completes documentation on a timely basis.
• Delegate appropriate duties to therapy aides and supportive personnel.
• Coordinate and organize a full treatment caseload.
• Attends and reports at rehabilitation team conferences, treating team conferences, and family team conferences.
• Seek to provide or enhance staff, patient and family education through continuing education courses.
